Another year, another Cooper off to Hartford track & field

Steinert senior Savion Cooper recently made it official that he would join his brother, Keon, to compete in track & field at the University of Hartford. Joining the signing party were (front row, from left) was Kiana Cooper (mom), Savion, Doug “Cooperazzi” Cooper (dad) and Keon. In the back row are Jamar Page (uncle), Deborah Page (grandmother) and Lorraine Cooper (great aunt). Savion also played football and is on the wrestling team at Steinert.

Proud product of Hamilton YMCA and Lou Gehrig baseball leagues and former teammate of Jim Maher on a very average Barton & Cooney rec basketball team, Fish graduated from Nottingham Junior High and Steinert High school and has covered township sports since 1980.
