Checking in with some sub-varsity basketball results

Here’s a look at some recent sub-varsity basketball game results:

The Steinert JV girls defeated Lawrence, 48-32, to improve to 5-3. Alex Haley scored 10 points to lead a balanced attack, followed by Alyssa Huth (9 points), Alex Wagner and Crysten Wood (7 each).

The Spartan freshman girls have coach Jim “Jules” Giglio seeking endorsement deals after a 40-13 win over West Windsor-Plainsboro South pushed their record to 4-1. Nicole Pappas had 11 points in Steinert’s fourth straight win, while Sarah Sarno and Maddie Klein scored six each.

In the previous game, Grace Goepfert tallied 10, while Sarno, Alex Haley and Grace Gaskill had seven each in a 45-22 win over Trenton.

The Steinert freshman boys defeated Trenton, 37-35, as Trevor Giordano scored 13 points, Nymere Whitaker tallied seven and Emanuel Obika had six. That was followed by a 37-26 win over WW-P South, with CJ Pittaro (14) and Trevor Giordano (10) leading the way.

The Spartans suffered their first loss, 59-56, to WW-P South, but bounced back for a 57-32 win over Lawrence as Whitaker had 13 points, Pittaro 11 and Jack Wiegartner eight.

The Nottingham JV boys defeated Hopewell Valley, 38-30, and West Windsor-Plainsboro South, 61-33.

The Northstars freshman boys topped WWPS 50-46,
