Police: Alleged ‘Facebook Killer’ Found Dead In Erie County, PA

The man wanted in connection with a brutal killing that was posted on facebook is reported dead in an apparent suicide.

Pennsylvania State Police say the alleged ‘Facebook killer’ Steve Stephens has been found dead in Erie County, Pennsylvania.

Authorities say Stephens shot and killed himself after a brief pursuit.

Steve Stephens, 37, was wanted on a charge of aggravated murder in the death of Robert Godwin Sr. in Cleveland in which he posted on facebook.

Pennsylvania State Police tweeted this:

Pa. State police Cpl. Adam Reed told NBC News that a citizen tip placed Stephens near an area McDonald’s early Tuesday.

“He was spotted because of the car and the license plate matched up with one distributed in media reports,” said Reed.

After a brief, 2-mile traffic pursuit, Stephens pulled out a handgun and killed himself, Reed said.
