Former Northstars Griffith, Madeus help Rutgers 4×400 relay set new school record at Penn Relays

Apr. 30:With a pair of Nottingham graduates helping the cause, the Rutgers 4×400 relay team set a school record and had a top-five finish in the nation’s most historic meet.

Senior Jermaine Griffith and freshman Boaz “Superman” Madeus, both former Northstars, teamed with Izaiah Brown and Taj Burgess to run a time of 3:04.67 at the Penn Relays 4×400 Championship of America Race finals Saturday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

The time broke the Scarlet Knights former mark of 3:06.01, set at the 2016 NCAA Regionals in Jacksonville, Fla. Griffith was also part of the team. Rutgers finished fourth overall, at the Penn Relays behind Houston (3:01.82), Auburn (3:03.52) and Mississippi (3:04.61).
