Hamilton Police responded to an armed robbery call about 5:30 a.m. last Saturday, April 29 and officers spoke with an employee who reported he was inside the business when a suspect came running in and showed the employee a silver handgun. Upon seeing the handgun the employee immediately ran out of the business and yelled to a customer to call the police.

The suspect fled on foot, without any proceeds, toward Paxson Avenue and attempted to get into a white car that was occupied by two females. When the suspect turned and saw the gas station employee following him, he ran into the woods behind a business on Paxson Avenue followed by a female passenger who was sitting in the car.

Police investigated the matter and eventually developed probable cause to issue warrants for the arrest of the three defendants.

Hamilton patrol officers arrested Scipione a short time later. She is also charged with possessing a hypodermic syringe, police said.

Police say it was Higgins and Moore who disappeared into the woods.

Detectives later tracked down Moore with assistance from the Mercer County Prosecutors Office, and Higgins was apprehended by Trenton police officers.

Melissa Moore of Hamilton is no stranger to authorities, she is the alleged former girlfriend of Vasil “Billy” Heisler who was convicted and is serving a 55 year sentence for the attempted murder of Sheriff Officer Joshua Hahn in 2007 at Anthony’s Pizza on South Broad Street.   Moore drove the car as Heisler and his sister Shannon Heisler fled the Hamilton pizzeria where Hahn was shot while intervening in a physical altercation between the siblings.

Higgins was charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose; Scipione was charged with robbery and possession of a hypodermic syringe; Moore was charged with robbery.
