Hamilton Square’s Chris LaBelle named CSAC Player of the Week for Centenary

It’s the holiday season, so there’s nothing like the sound of bells.

Or in this case, the sound of LaBelle filling up the stat sheet. .

Former Steinert and Trenton Catholic Academy standout Chris LaBelle has been named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 9.

During the week, the sophomore guard averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game. In last Monday’s win over SUNY Delhi – the Cyclones first of the year – LaBelle collected 18 points, three rebounds and a steal. He also had five assists with no turnovers in 35 minutes. This past Saturday, LaBelle scored 10 of his team-high 17 points in the second half, and added a career-high six steals to go along with four rebounds and three assists in a close loss to Lancaster Bible.

Although the Cyclones have struggled to a 1-8 start, LaBelle has been stellar. He is averaging 14.6 points, 4.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds, and leads the CSAC in assists per game and assist to turnover ratio (1.8) while ranking third in steals per game (2.3).
