Hart paces Steinert girls lacrosse past Northstars; Meara explodes in West win

Apr. 21: Off to the best start in program history, the Steinert girls’ lacrosse team improved to 5-1 with a 17-6 win over Nottingham Friday.

Hannah Hart continued her blistering scoring with five goals, while Emily Paternostro had four goals and two assists and Kelsey Espenhorst added four goals and one assist. Hart has 26 goals this year in just six games and is eight away from tying the 34 she tallied as a freshman.

Ashley Goimbert added a goal and an assist, while Emilia Sharko, Katie O’Boyle and Cara Bernstein also tallied for the Spartans, who have won three straight.

Nottingham got four goals from Michaela Donnelly, who has 15 this season, while Madelyn Lippincott added two goals and an assist.


Meara is fine with nine in Hamilton victory

In just her second game back from a high ankle sprain, Melanie Meara exploded for nine goals in Hamilton’s 13-5 win over Ewing Thursday night. Meara missed two weeks but has scored 14 goals in two games back, and has 32 on the season.

Haley Barnacz added two goals for Hamilton, Katie Mayernik had a goal and an assist and Amber Czyzewski added a goal. Picking up assists were Alaina Dickinson, Lauren LeClaire, Addie Nanni and Imani Rivera. Shannon Hood had eight saves in goal.
