Man shot at Hamilton Gas Station

A 45 year old male employee at the Gulf Gas station on Chambers was shot in the stomach.

Police say the suspect described as a 5-foot-7-inch tall black male, weighing approximately 200 lbs. and wearing a black wave cap, black sweatshirt and jeans entered the store around 6 a.m.

ABC News Chopper 6 video shows the police activity at the Hamilton gas station after the robbery.

According to officials, the investigation revealed the suspect planned to rob the gas station when the victim tried to prevent the robbery.

The employee struggled with the suspect who was armed with a gun when he was shot.

Police say the gunman escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash after the shooting.
