The Trenton Thunder will be on the road in an effort to raise funds so that every child can play baseball.
Hamilton, NJ – With Summer in full swing, the “Boys of Summer” are taking time out of their busy schedule to co-host an all-star game in conjunction with Miracle League of Mercer County.
The Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, The Trenton Thunder have forged a unique bond with the Miracle League of Mercer County having assisted as buddies and honored them during their annual HOPE Week.
The first event of its kind, this all-star game and vendor event, held on Wednesday, August 8 at the Hamilton Area YMCA Sawmill Branch (185 Sawmill Road, Hamilton), will be an experience unlike any other. There will be baseball, games, food and tons of fun! Pre-game ceremonies begin at 6:00 p.m. Game starts at 6:15 p.m. There is a suggested minimum donation of $5.00 per person to attend.
All monies raised will go directly to supporting Miracle League of Mercer County. The Miracle League relies on the generous support of sponsors and donors to build a positive, inclusive environment that serves children with disabilities as well and engaging the surrounding community.
The Miracle League of Mercer County’s inclusive environment benefits not only individuals with disabilities but the broader community as well. We strive to remove physical, social and attitudinal barriers and to acknowledge the significant contributions of everyone in the community. This means welcoming and valuing someone who would otherwise be excluded.
Since its inception, over two hundred and fifty of players, their families and volunteers have had a significant impact on the broader community, demonstrating what can happen when differences are accepted and diversity is embraced.
