Nottingham needed no comeback this time, as it jumped to a big lead and cruised to a 40-7 victory at West Windsor-Plainsboro South Friday night.

In two of its previous three wins, the Northstars needed to rally from double-digit deficits. This time it was 33-0 before the Pirates got on the board.

It was another eye-opening performance for freshman Dionte Nicholson, who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. In his past two games, Nicholson has rushed for 365 yards.

The Northstars ran for 277 yards as a team, with Jose Peralta and Ki’Shawn Williams each taking one in for a score. Deonte West had just two completions, but one went for a 65-yard touchdown to Jeffrey Davis.

Nottingham improved to 4-1 and visits Notre Dame Friday night. The Irish were winless entering Saturday’s game at Trenton.
