A well-balanced team that can win in any event has been the secret of their success so far this year.

Matthew Coulanges has racked up points for the Spartans in the Long, Triple, and High Jump this season, and sprinter Robert Huegel leads the way in the 100m and 200m event.

“This year our program has turned around, we have kids in every event that can jump, throw, sprint and run distance.  The Cooper Brothers (Keon and Savion) are doing well throwing, Matt Coulanges won 3 events today, we have a lot of speed in sprinters like Rob Huegel, Miles Smith, and Terrance Burton.  We have distance runners with Hagen Delakowski and Jason Moench.  What’s happening is everything is coming together and we are having a great year right now,” explained Steinert Track and Field Coach Ron Yacyk.

The Spartans will face off against crosstown Klockner Road rival, Nottingham on Tuesday, May 10th.  Nottingham Track and Field has been a powerhouse over the years and this meet will be one you won’t want to miss.
