VIDEO: Whittaker, Haley discuss all things Steinert heading into MCT softball finals

May 10: The Steinert softball team is back in the Mercer County Tournament finals for the second straight year and for the third time in the past five years.

This time the Spartans hope to finish the job after falling short in 2015 and 18. Steinert reached the championship game as their two top hitters unleashed their fury in an 8-1 semifinal win over Allentown Thursday night. Alex Haley had three doubles and five RBI while Bella Truelove had a titanic two-run homer and three RBI.

The last time Steinert won an MCT title, Courtney “The Salad Queen” Whittaker was a freshman catcher who won the tourney’s Most Valuable Player Award. This year, Kaylee Whittaker is a senior pitcher. And wouldn’t a Spartan title be a great way for the sisters to bookend their careers?

Fish4scores discussed the Spartans chances with Whittaker and Haley after the Allentown game;, along with Whittaker’s improving health and Hayley’s hot bat. Click above to watch the video.
