Home of the Rossi Burger
For More than 80 years, Rossi's Bar and Grill has been serving the 12-ounce hamburger that has became the restaurant’s calling card, hailed as the state’s best burger by New Jersey Monthly, featured on the Travel Channel’s “Burgerland” and mentioned in “Hamburger America,” a guidebook to 150 of the country’s best burgers.
After 80 years in Chambersburg Rossi's moved to its new home in Hamilton during the summer of 2015.
Rossi's Bar & Grill, the historic landmark Italian restaurant and home of the iconic "Rossiburger" bid farewell to its current home at 501 Morris Avenue at the close of business on May 31; and opened its doors in Hamilton in June of 2015 in a much more spacious environment with a nice big parking lot!
Rossi's story began in 1933 when current operators Michael and Sharon Rossi's grandparents first opened their doors to neighborhood residents serving casual home style food based on their family recipes.
The restaurant quickly became a gathering place for families and workers as well as local sports stars and politicians, eventually becoming a favorite spot of Yankee great Joe DiMaggio and many other professional athletes.
Rossi's next chapter introduces a partnership between Mike Rossi and Alan Meinster, the successful owner of another long-time Chambersburg eatery, Marsilio's, and now Marsilio's Kitchen in Ewing. Together along with the Rossi family: Sharon, Joanna and Ted as well as most of the Rossi staff, they will offer customers the same warm, welcoming environment that made Rossi's a second home for four generations.
Customers can expect to find all the old favorites, like Sharon's chicken cacciatore, Italian style pork chops and of course the "Rossiburger". In addition, Rossi’s features a selection of Imported Lagers and Craft Beers on tap including selections from Goose Island, Brooklyn, Firestone, Victory, River Horse and Magic Hat plus 25 international bottled beers. They also feature 15 wines by the glass to compliment every dish on the menu. And look for Rossi's new kids menu with fun games and activities so there will definitely be a Rossiburger for the next generation of Rossi fans!
