Dec. 28: The Nottingham boys took on defending tournament champ, as well as defending Central Jersey Group II champ, Bordentown in the boys Tucker finals, and the host Scotties emerged with a 72-68 victory.

It was the first loss of the season for Nottingham (4-1), which led 60-58 with 5:18 left to play but could not hold on.

“It was still a great effort from my guys,” coach Chris “The Baron” Raba said. “That’s one of the best teams we’re going to see this year. They lost some guys but they have three starters back from last year’s team who are outstanding.

“It would have been nice to win. You always want to win, especially in a championship game. But we showed we can play with a very good team today.”

Christian Ford led Nottingham with 20 points, While Cliff Joseph added 18 and Edwin Lakie had 11.
