Sep. 17: It was a Hamilton happening when it came to 12th Man TD Club choices this week, as each of the township’s public school had an honoree.
Hamilton’s Dan Ornosky, Steinert’s Angelo Falvo and Nottingham’s Alix Oge were all cited, along with Peddie’s Maurice Bellan and Robbinsville’s Matt Cooper.
All five award-winners, along with the five who won last week, will be honored at the Tuesday, Sep. 18 dinner at Massimo’s in Robbinsville starting at 7 p.m. Log on to www.wbcbsports.com for the live videostream WBCB 12th Man TD Club show. Ornosky, a senior, was named offensive lineman of the week after throwing several key blocks and helping Kevin Boswell to a 200-plus yard rushing day. Boswell and quarterback Eddie Fennell each ran for two TDS in a win over West Windsor-Plainsboro.
Falvo earned Defensive Lineman of the Week after Steinert’s loss to Hopewell Valley. The senior had 10 tackles and two sacks. “He put constant pressure on the quarterback all game,” coach Dan Caruso said. He is my best linemen and one of the best in the county.”
Oge kicked a game-winning field goal in overtime to beat Moorestown. The senior was also 3-for-3 in PATs, got two touchbacks on four kickoffs and hit four punts for a 52.5 average.
Bellan, a senior quarterback, was 18-for-23 for 404 yards and six touchdowns in a win over Wyoming Seminary.
Cooper, a first-year junior cornerback, recorded four total tackles and sealed the Ravens first win since October of 2016 with his first career interception at the 2-yard line with under two minutes remaining.
