Now entering its 13th year of operation, the Miracle League of Mercer County recently elected its new officers to their Board of Directors.  Herb Ames steps in as the new Chairperson, while former league Executive Director Kathy Rhead will serve as Vice-Chair.  Completing the office are Jeff Hurley – General Manager and COO of the Trenton Thunder – as Secretary, and former Chairman Al Pellegrino – now serving as league Treasurer.  Dan Sczweck enters his fourth year as the current Executive Director.

The league continues to serve upwards of 80 children and individuals with special needs – for eight weeks each spring and fall – by providing an inclusive and barrier-free setting.  These fun baseball games are two innings long, allowing each team to bat through their order so that each child can hit, circle the bases, and score a run.

The Miracle League will celebrate its Opening Day on Saturday, April 7 at the Miracle Field, located on the campus of the Hamilton Area YMCA Sawmill Branch.   First game, first pitch is set for 11:05 a.m.

Anyone can join the Miracle League of Mercer County family.  For more information on volunteering, donating, or contributing, contact Dan Sczweck at dsczweck@hamiltonymca.org or call (609) 581-9622 ext. 144.  You may also visit the Miracle League website:  www.miracleleaguemercer.org
