Kisthardt Students earn rewards for hard work!

Kisthardt Students put in long rigorous hours working on math, reading, science, social studies, and many other subjects. The words “extra recess” always earn at the very least a smile, but usually cheers of joy.  During the winter month’s extra recess for elementary students isn’t always easy, it is very dependent on the weather.  So, this trimester Kisthardt Elementary students worked hard earned an extra indoor recess as a reward.  Kisthardt students are hard workers but love to socialize and they know how to have fun!

Students who completed 100% of their homework for the second trimester earned a Tech Game Day!  Students were allowed (with parent permission) to bring in a tech device from home.  Those students that were not able to, or did not have a tech device to bring, were able to use the school’s laptops.

At the end of the day on March 23rd, 133 students gathered in the Kisthardt Multi-purpose room with their friends and devices.  The music was pumping and the students were playing, singing, laughing and dancing!   They helped each other and collaborated to earn top scores in their games.  Students don’t always get to spend time outside of school with their friends.  This extra recess provided an opportunity for students to just hang out with friends, an important part of social and emotional development.

Sadly, the end of the day came.  Reluctantly students packed up devices, but the big question on everyone’s lips was “Already? When do we get to do this again?”  Don’t worry Kisthardt Comets, we still have one trimester left! Keep up the good work.  We couldn’t be more proud of you.
