Nov. 19: The Mercer 33 entered its second quarter-century Monday night and, much like the first 25 years, Hamilton Township was well represented.
The 26th Annual Mercer 33 Select Committee Dinner (in association with Ewing Sports) was held on Nov. 18 with seven township players being honored.
Steinert led the way with three players, including junior center-back Morgan Hart, senior midfielder Maddie Klein and senior forward Margarita Ivanova. Hart helped to anchor a stellar defense, Klein had six goals and two assists and Ivanova led the Spartans in scoring with 11 goals and 12 assists.
Nottingham had two players honored in senior midfielder Emily Midura and junior forward Gia Girman. Midura was a standout scorer and playmaker with 10 goals and a team-high 11 assists, while the amazing Girman had 25 goals and 4 assists before suffering a season-ending injury in the first-round of the Mercer County Tournament.
Junior defender Leanna Gioscio made the team for Hamilton West after doing a solid job of anchoring the back for the Hornets.
Also named to the team was Hamilton Square resident Megan Tash, a senior forward for Notre Dame. Tash had an outstanding season, collecting 15 goals and 9 assists for the Irish.
