Hamilton Area YMCA makes splash at YMCA National Swimming Championship

The group of (from left)  Evan Eckels, Steven Wilfing, Matt Lequang, Christian Devine, David Curtiss and Felipe Bargo were all part of HACY’s strong effort at the recent YMCA Swimming Championship.   

The Hamilton YMCA (HACY) swimmers recently took 11th overall at the YMCA National Swimming Championship held at the Greensboro North Carolina Aquatic Center.  There were 208 teams totaling 1400 athletes that came from all over the USA to compete in this short course event.

David Curtiss placed  second in both the 50 free (19.78) and 100 free (44.47) and fifth in the 100 backstroke (49.41). Matthew Lequang placed third in the 1000 free (9:12.68) and sixth in the 200 free (1:39.39).

Curtiss, Lequang, Evan Eckels and Steven Wilfing placed sixth in the 200 free relay (1:24.08) and 11th in the 400 free relay (3:05.91).

Christian Devine and Felipe Bargo were also part of the team.
