Video: Steinert Boys Soccer tops Nottingham in opening round of MCT

The Steinert boys soccer team took a 1-0 victory over 14th-seeded Nottingham in a Mercer County Tournament first-round game.

Nottingham had some decent chances early in the second half, but it was Mason Walczak’s free-kick that ignited the game’s biggest play. Standing over 20 yards out, Walczak curved one into a pack of players in front of the goal that the senior Rohan Ming slammed in for his first goal of the year.

The Spartans (10-4) will host PDS Saturday. The 11th-seeded Panthers upset sixth-seeded Allentown on penalty kicks.
